Name: Johnny Culbreth
DOB: 1/28/91
Hometown: Hampton, Virginia.
Current Residence: Newport News, Virginia.
Class: Junior Men
Years riding: Lets see, I started in in Fall of 1999 and raced until 2002. After almost 4 years off I came back in the summer of 2006. So lets say 5 years.
What inspires your riding on a daily bases: Alot of things inspire me to ride my bike. Progression is probably one of the biggest, I love watching people progress over time. I have alot of long-term goals and working for them is what makes me go 110%.
Favorite place to ride: Wow... what a hard question. Of course I love riding the local track. I also love riding trails, out here in Virginia we don't have alot to choose from, but what we have are very nice and flow perfect. Even though I'm not a park rat, I love riding park. It's possible I could be the worst park rider ever, but I have fun doing it.
What music are you into right now: I really love a variety. Alternative/Indie is probably the biggest right now. I'm a sucker for a high distorted, palm muted breakdown too, haha. I like to listen to rap when I'm riding, it seems to make me flow good.
Gate 1 or 8: Well it really depends on the track. The track has a wide and long first straight, then I'd rather have Gate 1. If the track has dirt turns and a skinny first straight I'll go with 8. I really like the way that gate 8 sets you up for the first turn, and the fact that everyone doesn't want your line definitely helps.
What does the future hold for you: In the near future I would like to finish up Junior Men in 2009 in Australia with a world plate... That's the goal for now. I look at things one at a time, but of course everyone is shooting for the Olympics in 2012.
Other Interests: My bike is my life. Anything and everything I do revolves around it. I recently got hurt so I invested in a camera so I can still go to the races, haha. I'm looking to get into photography, and I would get in trouble if I didn't say I love hanging out with my girlfriend.

I'd also like to shout out to my Mom, Everyone at Hampton Supertrack BMX, Frank Hoskins for all the support, All my sponsors for helping me get to the races, My buds Pat, Ryan, Menardo, Andrew, Curtis, Asher, and all of my other local friends, The Moses Family, and the Bontorno Family, and last and certainly not least Matt Boller for taking me to South Park and making such an awesome website! |
